What pre with a Soundelux U95 / U99 ?

What pre would be great for vocals, using a U95 tube mic (older version of the famous U99, with replaced NOS tubes) ?
API, Millenia, ... ?

i have a channelstrip api 7600 which sounds wonderfull with u99.
i tried a martech(which is way more clean and open) once with u99 and it was way too sibiliant.

imho

I have both a U195 and U99 and I am using the A Designs Pacifica exclusively for all my vocal tracks now. That pre does things to vocals that I've never experienced with any other preamp.

I have both mics. The pres I like with these mics, Focusrite ISA110, BAE 312A, Millenia HV-3 and the Trident Flexi pres. So far I haven't liked the U99 with 1073 type pres but I don't mind the U195 which seems to play better with that type of pre. YMMV.

Unfortunately I have not. But I hear only good things about that unit. I do own a Great River ME1NV, however.

Haven't tried it with any of the other pres mentioned, but I use a U99 for vocals with a Phoenix DRS-1M, and it is one smooth setup. I bought both pieces after some extensive demoing with Fletcher at Merc. Works really well with my voice (a clear, loud tenor that can sound a bit brassy with the wrong equipment). The Phoenix also serves as a great DI unit for guitar and bass.
