Lexicon LARC II as DAW controller ?

Very unusual question:

Sitting here between my yellow LARC and a digidesign command 8 test device I´m asking myself:

* Why should I buy the command if everything I need is in the LARC II ?

I have touch sensitive faders, a nice display, little meters....

does someone know if the LARC can be "abused" as a pT controller ?

2nd question:

the nice surround joystick on the LARC. Is it motorized ? Can it be used to control surround pan positions per midi in pT ?

thanks thumbsup

In theory it should be possible, with the TC Icon it could certainly be done (even if it required replacing the code on the thing).

The easiest way, and this is something that Lexicon could do quite easily (or they could hire me to do it I'm actually starting to work on a generic control surface layer for sequencers) would be to support the mackie HUI or mackie control protocols on it. If you actually made this request to them I'd be intrested to hear what they have to say.

I did this with a System 6000 Icon. Each engine has it's own midi channel, and I think controllers 71-76 are sent/received from the faders.

Sorry, but have not done it with a Lexicon.

A while back, I got stuff in Digital Performer to respond to the Lexicon MRC.

Nothing spectacular, but it worked.

I was pretty sure LARC 2 didn't support a great deal of MIDI?
960L Upgrade perhaps?
Just curious

Wow this is the voice from the future
upgarding my own thread from 2006.

In 2012 shaman is using the lexicon pcm bundle
and controls it via a d- command plugin map.

The yellow larc was pretty though - good old times lol.
