Monitor Placement

Were does everyone put the video monitor so that it does not interfere with the stereo image?
I have a classic style desk with the over bridge. My monitors are stands about 8 inches behind the desk. I want to put the LCD monitor (19") on the bridge without affecting the sound. How do you do this?
