Thread Starter | Hammer & Nail on the Master Bus
So I've just patched a Hammer and Nail into my 2 bus. First impressions are that if all outboard gear is filled with the same magic audio mojo dust, I'm going to be broke for a long, long time. I have a few questions for the more experienced guys here regarding using outboard like this. Do you typically mix into the EQ and the comp? If not, at what point do you patch them in? Regarding tracking, is it normal to track though both a comp and an EQ? I usually wouldn't track with an EQ, but the Hammer has such an awesome sound that I'll probably add it to my tracking chain. I know that there is a good amount of people on this board using these units. If anyone has any tips/tricks that they are willing to share, it would definitely be appreciated. As it is, I still can't say that I 100% get the difference between the two threshold options on the Nail. I can dial them in and make them sound good, but I really have no idea what's happening. Any insight would be appreciated. -Jamie |
