Quality of Coleman M3PH mkII or LS3 monitor switchers?

Anyone using either a Coleman M3PH MkII or Coleman LS3 monitor switchers? I don't need a full blown system with conversion etc.. like an Avocet, but I want something that is high quality so I'm wondering how these particular passive units are?

Coleman is very hard to beat, it's all built like a tank!

Glen Makes insanely HELPFUL hardware. His new box the QS8 is extremely cool and I'd bet once you wrapped your head around the intuitive layout - you will agree. Anyway - I have found no way to describe the sound of his passive boxes because there is none. At least, I cannot describe the sound at all. They are invisible to my ear. The M3PH MK2 is a great unit that I think is worthy of the price of admission as a real studio tool if the layout fits your requirements. The stepped potentiometer used in this unit is the most expensive part of it I think - [as there are very little electronics in these units, or the least amount of electronics possible] and in my opinion the stereo attenuator is the most crucial part - as in; a good one does not change the stereo field from low to high levels, or shrink the frequency response at all. All the switches are very high quality and rugged and withstand the test of time and pushy fingers.

I've had a M3PH MKII for a few years and the build quality is great. FWIW, the stereo main level pot is starting to develop some inconsistencies at the extreme lo & hi positions. Exercising the pot usually makes the problem go away.

I have it for years and still find it a good and above all natural sounding unit.

Great, thanks for the feedback. Looking at their product list I just noticed the MS6R which is exactly what I'm looking for. A passive unit with 1 stereo in and 6 stereo outs. Price is just about right as well

Quality of Coleman M3PH mkII or LS3 monitor switchers?

I have a Coleman the green one with four sources and three speakers and a big stepped pot. The sum to mono button is my biggest gripe. It automatically lowers the volume when you sum to mono.

Before we get all the are you sure everything is in phase speeches. I did some testing and it even get low in volume using sine wavs and white noise. I use the mono sum button alot as should any good mix engineer . This one acts as like a mono sum dimmer button. I also lost my right channel for a total of 3 mins the other day after muting and un muting it.

Anyone know how and why to use the phase button on this thing. The sound when pressed makes my head spin and is obviously phasey but is a good reference for anything?
