BAE 1272 Line in question...

Hi. I'm considering buying a pair of these for tracking. I was wondering if it is possible to retrack (already recorded) things coming out of my pro tools HD in line level through these. The line in seems to be the 1/4 unbalanced on the front. Will this degrade my audio or mismatch the impedance? Will I also be able to put my mixbuss through the 1/4 inch for additional warmth? Thanks

For your application I would use a reamp box, +4 balanced to -10 unbalanced. Or yes go in/out of a 1/4" machine and back, will have to move it time wise...depending on time delay of your 1/4" machine(head spacing), and also the source, it could be a cool effect, dry left, delayed right...

I've done it before on mine. Just note that if you go straight out of PT into the DI that the input/output level will need to be turned WAY down on the pre before going back to PT.

It does nice things though with the right music.
