| Gear interested | Otari Mx-80 good buy?
Hello. I'm looking into an otari mx80 that is for sale very close to where I live, and am trying to get any info i can about the mx80's sound and reliability. My current studio consists of pro tools hd2 with a rossetta 800, a soundcraft 6000 console, and my better pres are api and ua. my only experience with a tape machine was a session I did on a sony apr 24 about 2 years ago, and remember being really impressed with the drum sounds. I've wanted a tape machine for some time, and this unit is going for around 2k, and might also come with a 1/2" 2 track (otari I think). I'm interested in this unit mainly for tracking drums/bass/gtr and then transferring onto pro tools. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

you should go listen to the deck, the MX 80 is not an MTR 90. However that is a decent price
