Thread Starter | How to interface live with another studio?
Say you have your guitar player in New York, and you live in LA, and you want to lay down some parts without the hassel of holiday travel. Or maybe you want to collaborate and be able to hear each other in real time. What are the options for doing this? Any slutz working this way? Thanks.

i work that way. during tracking, mixes are bounced to mp3 and emailed. the aiffs for the parts done against them are uploaded to the band's ftp site, where i download them and incorporate them into the mix. sometimes, when i've got the singer in, i'll do a roughmix and email the mp3 to the guy who plays producer (he's in nyc). he'll take a quick listen and make suggestions via phone. the band also shares session files and Reason files. there are 8 of us but only 3 live in chicago. the other 5 range from LA to London.
