API a2d picture inside

Hi, I bought 2 api´s a2d, and I opened it.
Bu I can´t understand why they are so different,somebody know why they look so different inside?

my guess would be that that board on the left is upside down on one of the boards.

Could be wrong.

they just took off the meter electronics from the main board and put it on small pcbs.
leds are soldered on the small pcbs instead of being wired to the main board.
it's a better idea, quicker to build, easier to repair.
i bet the one on the left is the newer one.
very cool.

could you take some detailed shots of the digital part (the right half)
and post then on the GUTZ thread?

There is a version with the clock, and an older version without the clock. However, I have no idea if that is the difference with the guts of your units.

API change their shiz without warning. Sometimes there are clues here and there like blue vs. silver sides. Sometimes no clue or notice at all. "Specifications are subject to change without notice."

It makes it hard to know what we are referring to when talking about API gear. They completely changed the 2500 from 3 VCAs to 4 (or vice versa?) and I have no idea what I tested. It also makes it a bit unnerving to send them something for repair...what are they going to send back?

Both of the preamps have the clock, but one have a small plate that looks that it was put after!
