Anyone else had problems with Stephen Sank?

I'm wondering and perplexed..
I had him do a B&O mod and resto early in the year, communication and delivery was great-
More recently, I sent him an RCA Varacoustic for resto, and it's been pretty hellish, he has been paid in full for months now, and I send email after email, with no response- I've called but get excuse after excuse, and now his phone does not work??

I'm wondering if anyone else has had these experiences with Sank?
I know he does great work, but the customer service is nada, to say the least...
Am I missing something (other than my mic and my money)???

There are several extended threads on this over at prosoundweb on Harvey Gerst's forum:

Near as I can make out he recently had some kind of bad auto accident -- although there are people complaining about work that should have been completed a long time ago.

I'd be cautious about engaging him on anything new at this point until this sorts out. Best of luck with your mic.

I just sent him something so I hope he's okay.
He's always done right by me in the past.

Same problem. I have been buying mics from him for years. He called me about a cool mod, I paid in full and now he doesn't even answer the phone. Very strange. He owes me sh!t right now. It has been 6 months since I paid.

I just spoke with Stephen. He picked up on the first ring.
He's been having some trouble with big jobs after a bad
car accident but when he's not in pain he's working on mics.
I'd say cut him some slack. He's always been fair and true
for me and easy to work with. He's just having a hard time right now.
I don't think he'd ever do anyone wrong on purpose.
He has a nearly perfect e-bay rating (one neutral) and that
don't come easy. Maybe a little kind conversation and understanding is in order?
As always, YMMV.

Power Supply,

I'll go easy, if he returned my calls or answered the phone. He said I have the mic in a week 6 months ago and I haven't gotten a response to many phone calls and emails. No excuse for that.

I hear ya' man, sorry about your troubles.
I didn't mean to be preachy. It's just that he takes a lot of heat
on these forums sometimes and it just doesn't match my experience.
