Thread Starter | Rosetta 200 DIGI 002 Sync issues
Okay.. Here we go... I have no problem with slaving my 002 to sync to my Rosetta 200 via ADAT at 44.1, 48 and 96. But when I try to use 88.2, ProTools doesn't even recognize my Rosetta. ADAT is not a valid clock source and my I/O setup doesn't show my apogee. Any suggestion on how to do this. I must master at 88.2 and this really isn't helping me.. Thanks ::steve.rokks:: |

The 002's ADAT connexion only supports up to 48kHz. You sure it syncs at 96 via ADAT? How about S/PDIF?

Actually.. it doesn't sync.... but the inputs show up in my I/O (though all f*ed up). How can I get these two units to sync at 88.2K? Thanks bro. |

Yea, ADAT lightpipe hookup only works up to 48. If you want to use a higher sample rate, you can go into the 002 via SPDIF and you can go with any sample rate you want. Since you are using a 2 channel unit, and SPDIF only supports 2 channels, you will be optimizing your Rosetta 200.

I've been wondering if I can go out of the AES on my Rosetta 800 to the S/PDIF input on the 002. Doesn't AES talk to S/PDIF? |

M-Audio Co3 I did at one time have some cables made up that had a resistor in the XLR plug to lower the Ohmage (sp?) to the S/PDIF end. It worked from a Kurzweil DMTi out to some other stuff. I may still have some. PM if you want.

"Built-in jitter correction assures that your digital communications are completely reliable." And at the top it says "M-Audio, a part of Avid" Probably the part of Avid that you put in the stuffing, huh? 'Course, considering what I know about digital signal chain krap, it could be fine. So what's the value and how is that thing wired? Maybe I should try it... ![]() Thanks! | |

spdif will definately work up to 96k with the rosetta 200/digi 002 combo, and although its a bit finnecky at times, the digi will chase the clock on the apogee and you can do two tracks in and out at 96k or 88.2. when I first set it up I was using lightpipe and I couldn't get it to work although I think it should of. I never reinvestigated after I got it working with the spdif cables. YMMV.
