1-2 yr buying plan for studio

I love these threads, never posted one myself. Here goes. I've been working on my home studio for some years now, slowly. I'm graduating college this year, and I'm taking some time off before grad school to work and help finance a home studio. Hopefully, I can finish a project within the next 2 years, and make some sort of living as a recording artist. Might as well give it a shot, I feel ill regret it later if I don't try. What can 2 years hurt?

What am I shooting for? A one man record (ala Trent Reznor \ Beck), very heavy at times, very soft at others.
What I've got so far.

Great river me-1nv
Digi 002r (self built pc)
Rode NTK
2x sm57
Les paul standard
Marshal tsl602 tube amp
Fender p-bass
Monitors that I'm too embarrased to mention
some mid\high auralex absorb on the walls
Roland midi keyboard w\ absynth, drumkit from hellsuperior
baby grand piano yamaha

-I'm not planning on mixing\mastering this myself, I'll have it done by a pro.

The DAW and converters:
I'm not happy with the 002r, and was looking at an HD1 solution with possibly a 96i\o or a rosetta 200 (about the same price, and 6 more i\o with PT, seems like a steal, and I've heard there is not that big of a difference). I've never heard anything but the 002r converters, and I'm not sure how they stack up compartively. I'm not sure what HD1 sells for, it seems the PT list price is always way higher than what it actually is. I use DFHS for drums, and along with PT it eats my pc.

The mic:
I know I could use a better mic, I'm thinking u195, maybe a pearlman everyone has been talking about. The NTK sounds screechy to me. The sm57 sounds halfway decent when I yell, just need something for the regular vox and whispers.

Monitors:
I'll try out the asp8s, the genelcs, hr824, all in that price range. I think any of em will be sufficient for tracking? Whichever one suits my room\taste the best.

Pres:
I think the great river will cover all of my needs, I'd like to have a GR eq behind it.

Outboard\ Inboard:
I need a compressor, I think my guitar and bass direct are clipping my converters. Definetely need something for the vox. RNC, distressor, la2a, whatever fits the bill. Plugs that I might need or will serve me well? Verb? Compression, eq?

Room:
Bass traps I guess, I've heard realtraps are nice.

Other:
I'd like to pick up a synth or two. Maybe a DX7 and a Juno 60 for kicks.

So.. if you made it this far, thanks for reading. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I'd really like to compile a list, at least of different options within each category to try so I can stop reading and researching about it, and be able to focus more on writing at the moment. I'd like to keep everything under $10,000. Any other tools you think would be crucial or helpful to me, let er rip.
Thanks, Mike

If you aren't gonna mix it or master it..I say save your money and stick with the oo2r ad get a rossetta 800. Save your self 10 grand on buying HD1.

If you do get an HD1, get the 192's.

Maybe pick up a pair of Royers, a 421, API 3124, 1176, distressor, some monitors that sound good to your ears (gene's or 824's should be fine for tracking), then spend the rest on getting your room acoustics right. Don't skimp on the acoustics, skimp on gear if you have to.

Oh, for vox, you can rent a mic if you need to.
