API 2500 on vocals?

Has anyone tried the API 2500 on male vocals? I know it isn't it's primary purpose but just wondering what you guys think?

Anyone tried the 2500 on vox? Little help.
Here is why I am asking. I'd like to have two really great two buss comps for different sounds. I love the Vari-Mu (Manley on both two buss and vox). So I was thinking about somthing pretty different that would also be really great on both. Rather than having a Vari Mu and a good single channel vox comp. This way I would have variety on which to use on a mix (more aggressive or more warm and fuzzy) and use the other as a vocal compressor. With as versitle as the 2500 seems (just from reading not experience) would it give me some good sounds when mixing vox?
Anyone?

Absolutely... and I have a feeling that after you've ****ed with the 2500 on 2 buss a bit you'll probably send the Manley thing to vocal responsibilities [where I think it's far better suited than 2 buss applications].

The neat thing about the 2500 is how you can really tailor the texture it imparts to the track... the flexibility is astounding.

Great unit.

I haven't tried it on vocs because I'm already covered on that end, but I think the 2500's great for drum overs. I try to vary the "New/Old" setting from what I -think- I'm going to use later on mixdown.

Tried it on X/Y'd acoustic guitar without much success: I needed invisibility. The RNC is a secret weapon for that application.
