pre amp back up plan

i am building back up my studio and i want a elixir 500 pre it's what i had before but i can't find any used. i will also need a lunchbox of course. i have a gig booked for the first of june that will bring in more if it works out well. i loved the elixir when i had it. it worked well for mostly every vocal i used it on. i only have 1000$ so i can't buy a new one. so what i need is a back up pre plan. something else along the lines of the elixir, that i can get for a 1000$ not 1100 or 1000.99 just 1000$ so please no answer of " if you liked the elixir just get another" the cheapest i have found on a lunchbox and elixir is 1150$ shipped.

another thoght would a x72 from fivefish work out for me? if so i could get that and do my gig and buy the elixir later.

If it's just the June gig you're stressing about, another option would be to hire something to get you out of trouble there, rather than blowing your whole pre budget right now for something that isn't what you ultimately want.

preamp

Fivefish has some awesome pre-built deals right now. I would bet they will get you through your session AND make a home in the 500 rack....

+1 for Five Fish.. i have X-12's and they are meaty, very nice. the SC-12 is clear and a bit airy to me-- Really great pres at great prices. i'm on the hunt for another sc-12 myself
