Arent these the guys with rates that look super low, but when you check it out it ends up they require a 1 week rental? I recall something about misleading info on the web site. As I recall, it says like $150/day, but that is only if you buy 7 day minimum, and there are some other catches as well. Still, not a bad deal imo.

I've gotta say, I do a little gear rental business myself, and even with a 1-week minimum, those are really great rates ... Frankly, given the cost of owning that gear and maintaining it, it's tough to imagine it being profitable.

I thought that also....hmm...Local only?...Scam?...Crack addicts?? LOL

If all of the above worries are wrong, they could easily earn our business. I really wish they would comment here and speak for themselves. I will try emailing them the link.

(Edit, OK, I emailed them with this link and an invitation to GS to comment. Lets hope they show up and share their thoughts. )

Max, if you get into LA in the next few, will you check this out? It all just feels so fishy. Usual rates are like $50-200/day per unit for like, anything in high end? Twilight Zone?

I PM'd "madman" Lugo & RoundB to see if they will check on it....

Hello Dave,
We just recently received a few email communications that prompted us to join this forum. FYI: Our company was established in 1987. Yes, what you see is "For Real"… and has been for a long time.

Renting pre-configured Rack-Systems has been our niche for over 18 years. As far as profitability goes- if there was no profit, then we would not still be in business.

There are obviously a lot of NEWBIES to Pro Audio here at GearSleeze: (Dearest "natpub"... don’t appreciate the comment about "crack addicts"). Gear Addicts, long before you were born better fits.

For the record, the owner of this company owns as much “vintage gear” as anyone in this forum- easily (paid for a long time ago I might add). Ask the owner of Le Mobile (Guy Charbonneau, 760-734-4100, he has a banner ad up top) what a Pro Tools System from Rack Attack is like. Perhaps you should PM one of the META GODS- George Massenburg... his last rental from us was with John Boylan, a Linda Ronstandt deal. John drove the Pro Tools rig from L.A, to Tuson AZ and charged us cartage.

Anybody that needs additional information, references or whatever can call us at any of the numbers below. And Yes, all of the phone numbers below actually work!

BTY: Don’t get too excited. We do not rent anything outside of the L.A. area (don't need to, were busy enough here).

Best of luck,
Rack Attack Rentals

FWIW I was going to respond that these guys have been around since Moses was still wearing short pants... but they got here first so there is no need.

Hi guys,

OUCH! Gimme a break, I didn't know ya :-) No need to slam me or GS. I was trying to help the community and ya'll too. That was a sharp smackdown, and not deserved nor accurate...I figured my later detailed comments made that clear. Still, our attempts at humor may not be so clear. Typical Internet fuzziness. The crack thing was a joke, and my sincere appology if it came across wrong. That was in no way my intent, and is my fcukup.

Anyway, Cheers, and glad to see ya. Still, I weep you aren't available in Austin!! We would LOVE you LONG TIME!!

[Fletch, thanks for the after-attempt at a save, my bad, and I shoulda asked you first anyway, bleh--hopefully my line of inquiries wont lead to a misguided chain of questions on these fine folk after this....sigh....ya try to do a good thing...then, bleh...ya get boffed...I'm sure you can relate].

K. :-)

Yeah - I think nat was commenting relating to some ebay scammer who was continually selling high end gear like that and not shipping then we all figured out SHE was just some form of crack addict needing to be shut down.

Nat's a good guy!

Don't yell at us and we'll rent from ya - OK? Maybe chime in with insights and comments about some of that lucious gear. Ya know, horror stories - what's over rated - under rated - what holds up well on the road...

"Hello, Dave"?!?!?

As I said in my reply to your PM -- I don't know why you're replying to my post or roping me into deserving any animous reply ... I only popped on to this thread to say "wow those are some great rates, how do they do that?" or something I had intended to be to that effect.. And hey -- I have in fact, even heard of you guys over my 17 years working in this business!!

Continued success to you and yours!

Wow.... GearSleeze? Great start with your first post by alienating a lot of potential customers.

With racks like that who cares if they're testy?

You KNOW you want that gear - & I must say it gave me wood when all the other spam - no matter how hot the babes are - never really did.

That's a good thing right?

Gear

As a client of Rack Attack for years, they are a top notch company. Their gear is in imacculate shape and they are no nonsense people to deal with. I don't work for the company, but i can vouch for them. Their Studios used to be top notch also.

Hey RoundBagde I know how you might take that but he was pretty much reffering to good ol' Natpub's comment.

And poor Nat already knelt down and took the sword for it (very honorable man too - kinda rare someone says: "oops sorry").

'Cides today I just inherited an Uncle with unbelieeeeeeeeeevable amounts of choice vinatge gear - cool huh?

Oh I've always wanted to ask you for a long time - is that you on the avatar icon? It's a rockin' action drum shot!
