Burning in new monitors?

I am getting a couple of sets of new monitors and need to know they safest and best way to burn them in? (See my "Done with KRK" thread) Pink/White noise for 24 hours at a certain volume? I really have no clue about this side of things. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael Greene

Don't know what speakers you got but FWIW Dynaudio says to avoid high levels for the first 24 hours usage and that you'll be broken in within about the first week of normal usage. If you leave a cd on loop or something going continuously you'll obviously hit the '1 week' mark sooner.

I also seem to remember something in the manual about setting them up almost touching face to face and leaving music playing would break them in even faster but I can't remember the exact setup or reasoning.

If they're active monitors it’s also not bad to leave any electronics on for awhile
when brand new. (Besides “breaking in speakers”).

This does some “infant mortality” testing. (This has served me well).

Although below link reference PCs this is the general idea.

I think the point is to flip the polarity on one of 'em to minimize the output.

Had mine running a night with a looped CD.
However, a person from Adam whom I asked said something like burning in wasn´t really necessary.

'burn in'is correct.
Take CDr with different material in your player.
A title with heavy basses, a title with much dynamics (classical / jazz),
one title which loud sound (Pop)...
CD on repeat and 24-48 hours ' burn in '.
High Volume (max. 75%) and save zhe Box in the Vocal area .

After 24,-48 hours, loudspeaker sounds correct.

Great info guys. Thanks a million. The Dynaudio book is very vague. I just don't want to go through the "Gee why does everything sound different than it did an hour ago phase. Especially over a week!!!! Might just be the way it is though......

Thanks again,
Michael Greene

this is interesting, i definately feel that my s2.5's bass response took a week or 2 to get up to par. (perhaps a psycho-accoustic adjustment period?)
