is there anyone willing to listen

Hello gearslutz.
I.m wodering if any of ye pro's would visit my site, have a listen to the samples and tell me what they think of my engineering skills.
I use SX3, RME mutiface, TL audio 5051 pre, with a SE gemini mic for vocals. Monitored though M audio BX 8's.
I know it's not a pro studio yet but i'm working toward it. I have just bought a Focusrite ISA 220 which I haven't got yet but am hoping it will add something to the process. If you have time go to www.fastlanestudio.net and have a listen on the samples page. The first 3 are the lastest recording and the best in my opinion. Any construtive critisism is welcome.

You'll get some responses if you link to your mp3's in the MP3 Upload Show & tell forum here.

hey fastlane... I listened to the first three samples on the page - the ones by Leman. I reckon it sounds pretty cool on the whole... this is from a relative newbie, so take it for what it's worth, but...

I reckon the vocal on Remember is out the front on it's own a bit too much, especially in the chorus. There are some heavy guitar chugs coming into the chorus and I was expecting a big wall of noise, but was disappointed. Maybe the same to a lesser extent in the chorus of Tonight.

Also, the little snare in the verse of Tonight sounds really wimpy... I suspect that was a decision from the drummer though, as it sounds like a secondary snare on the kit. Probably not much you can do about that...

Like I say though, on the whole I think you've done a great job - I'm just being picky, since that's what you asked for...
