how is that possible? seems to me there's at least one new thread on the subject each week.

anywhooo... i'll say what most people usually say, the URS plugins are pretty hard to beat. the sony oxford eq also gets a lot of love here.

pretty much all plugins on the market are available as demos, so you should check them out for yourself. one person's warm is another person's muddy, and so on.

good luck.

I suppose because the search engine here ignores the letters "eq" in searches?

For me I've been happy with the UAD-1 and TriTone plugins (HydraTone and ValveTone). I just got the URS A, N and S series but haven't really used them enough yet to comment - so far so good however.

I'm surprised that these threads continue to pop up, and since I'm sick of it, I refuse to reveal my fave..

I suggest running a search on any of the more popular EQ's mentioned. Any one of the hundreds? of these threads will enlighten you.

I recently purchased an Oxford bundle, bundle "A" I think. I was very impressed with the EQ. It blew away all my other EQ plugins, IMO. Clean and very effective. It was my introduction to the new series of fine plugins that I've been hearing so much about.

I also just downloaded the URS A and N series plugins. I was blown away again. The URS's have character that I hadn't previously heard in a plugin EQ. Having heard all of the great reviews, I took the precautionary measure of downloading only the demos of the plugins I could currently afford. I have a feeling downloading more would be torture. Recommended.

Good luck.

Boring old waves RenEQ, and the digirack 1 band EQIII seem to be the only ones I ever bother to put up if I use a plug in EQ at all. I normally use plug in EQ's for ridiculous effect type EQ and filtering, and those two do quite well.

Obviously, the right one goes with the right track / project... But the ones that have impressed me "just being what they are" would be UAD's Precision EQ and Pultec Pro.
