OK pity party over. Great studio. Much history. Great Producer. Sounds like he's downsizing given state of industry.... or relocating.....still uses best gear in smaller facility or home addition.... life goes on. I still can't understand this.... all the big studios are closing... yes... ok..... but now the home studios have millions of dollars of gear in smaller tuned rooms...... I won't live in the past... I'm not gonna buy a 24 trk, some killer vintage board and build a cabin in the woods... say F#$K to Pro Tools and go broke. There's still melody and lyric. I wanna help people make great songs... who cares if it's on an ipod... it's the message.

Location, location, location. Eudora is a poor location. Not exactly the mecca of music. If it was in KC, it might be appealing.
Agreed, but the "magic room" is in Eudora...and overhead is much lower there. I think the problem is that the studio kind of specialized in Midwestern emo rock and that genra has died and it took the studio with it.

Wow... Terrible news. I think they count as one of the "big guys"... in my mind anyway. Where's the sad emoticon?

After checking out the list of people who still have their data on file there... I see a guy who records with us now.... I'll have to let him know.

I had no idea there was such a studio in Eudora. It isn't far from KC, but it isn't exactly a town where you'd expect to find a cool studio.

Man, that put a few tears in my eye, too bad. I'm glad I got a chance to set foot in there and see it before it goes though!

I agree with so much of what you say. It's still bums me out, even though I may be a direct extension of your statement. I big part of me thinks it's amazing that the paint set has gotten cheaper as well.
