What Would You Add To This Setup?

Ok, this is my little home songwriting rig. If you had to add something to it, what would you add?

Computer
Apple 15" G4 1.5 ghz Powerbook with LaCie d2 250 GB Firewire 800 external HD
Logic Pro 7
Pro Tools M-Powered Software
Various plugins (too many to name)

Preamp/DI
AMS Neve 1073
Radial JDI DI

Compressor
Urei 1176 (rev B)

Audio Interface
M-Audio Audiophile Firewire
Apogee Rosetta 200 (will be purchased soon!)

Mic
Shure SM57 (made in the USA)

Monitoring
Mackie 1202 VLZ (basically acts as an audio router and "big knob", is not in recording chain)
Yamaha NS10M's
Crown DC300A (the original FIRST edition)

Also I have a few analog synths (EMS VCS3 Putney, Roland JX8P, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Studio Electronics ATC-1), a Lexicon PCM60 reverb and a big guitar rig.

So if you had to add something to this, what would it be? I'm thinking vintage LA2A and maybe a large diaphragm condenser mic. I would loooove a U47 but that's way more than I want to spend. How about a U67? How does that compare to a U47? I prefer a vintage mic over new mics so U47 clones are out of the question.

lol! nooooo! Must. Resist. U......47!!

There's gotta be a decent mic that I'll love almost as much as a long body chrome top U47 without buying one! Once again, how's the U67? Would it satisfy my GAS and appease the Gear Gods?

I would pick up some outboard German eq's and process your stuff with some of those you will not believe the sound you get for just a couple hundred bucks.I've got all kinds of plugins Waves Master,Platinum,Sonitus, you name it but nothing comes even remotely close. If you try it once you will never go back!

I think nobody could answer this question to you ...Well the U67 was the direct follower of the U47. But they sound very different. Not only that the VF14 valve was discontinued, the former new music style "beat" (rock/pop) asked for "new" punchy sounds 'cause of "new" close micing- and overdub technics, etc... wowowow :-)

If I could only have one of those vintage mics it would probably be an U67 or a M269c. And yes Swami is right about the old German outboard stuff. But the flock of wethers always needs a bellwether who told them what are trendy brands and where to spend there money instead of using their ears and brain... but actually that's another story
