| Mindprint Dual Channel. Any opinions? Hi folks, I am interested in purchasing a high quality front end (Pre-Amp/EQ/Comp) for my DAW. There is so much stuff out there that is rarely stcoked by the local music store (unable to hear the units before buying) I was wondering if any of you have one of these units, or have used one and would be kind enough to give me your thoughts. The unit would also be used for tracking mainly electronic/virtual synths/drum machine/samples etc + of course vocal and guitars from time to time. I really need something that has character, and musical EQ. Plugin EQ doesnt cut it for me (well not yet) Or would you have another suggestion? Warmth and fattness :) is what I am looking for. thankyou in advance. |

| I haven't heard the combo unit. I do have the Mindprint T-Comp and I think it's quite cool. It can add a nice bit of aggression that I like at times. It has some other cool features. I don't know if the comp in the combo is the same as the T-Comp. You might want to check their website.

| we're really a big help...I haven't heard the dual either...but I do have and use frequently the Envoice...replaced the tube with a NOS Sylvania 12AX7...very usuable on drums, acoustic gtrs, and vox when a certain sound is desired...

| Thanks for the replies. After checking out various other boards I wont buy the Mindprint on spec. I dont get a feeling of 'must buy this unit' from anyone. Im sure its a decent unit however. Perhaps they are very new on the market? Cheers |

| Haven't used the Pre, but the Mindprint T-comp is fairly dissapointing for a valve compressor... drive the valves in the T-comp and it seems to introduce a harsh brittle distortion to the signal rather than a smooth harmonic glow as expected from valve gear. Not sure if this is due to poor quality Valves or just poor circuitry? |
