Thanks Fletcher. Looking for affordable, MULTI-purpose pre that will give "professional" results.

Along the same lines....Isn't OSA coming out with a APIish EQ and Comp to drop in a lunchbox?
Any word in these?

I posted a rather long review of the OSA MP-1a pre's last year. A search will pull it up.

The Compressors will have nothing to do with API. The first introduction will be a transformer coupled stereo unit based on the SSL design, with more reported headroom. The second unit will be a La-4 style with Lundahl transformers in the 500 series modular format. Not sure about the EQ's yet, but there is no need to copy the 550. Dale has mentioned that he would like to do a graphic first, don't expect it to be a 560 #2 though. OSA in no way want's to just be a regurgitator of already done API product.

Got Fear?

I'm not sure why you mention a 1073 type pre unless you are asking a completely separate question from the OSA one. IIRC, OSA doesn't make a 1073 'clone'.... yet.

Yeah I guess it's two questions. Fishing around for a pair of good versatile pres.
