My Apogee studio setup

Hi in the next few days I'm upgrading my studio from a Motu 896 HD to an Apogee Rosetta 800 and with my Rosetta I'm buying a Big Ben clock and a X-firewire card so I can connect it to my Macbook. So now I need good preamps with those machines so I'm thinking about buying API 3124+ quad preamp. along with some other preamps for the remaining channels. I am quite the n00b in those pro recording machines so I ask you this. Am I doing a sensible purchase and what kind of preamps should I buy with my API preamps? and why?

2 channel BAE 1073 Mp/mpf or Aurora audio gtq2 or ams neve 1073dpa for nice Neve color
And
either a 2 channrl millennia hv-3c or 2-channel gml 8302
For nice clean gain.

Good luck!*
