Thread Starter | One last dolby 361 mod question! All the other related posts have gone dead:-( Hey guys I bought a 361 with 2 cat 22 cards(always good to keep one original) I did the mod where I just disconnected the one arm of each resistor as instructed. When disconnecting a leg on one of the resistors i broke off a small peice of the resistor itself! Though it was only a small piece of the tip I was wondering does this make a difference? Im not going to wanna reverse it ever so thats not an issue. I figure since Im trying to disrupt this particular circuit anyhow it should be fine, can I just remove these resistors completely? Maybe I should go pick up yet another one and be more careful? any help would be appreciated I dont have a power chord to test it yet!!.... |

| It will be fine. If you ever want to change it back you may need to replace the resistor but CAT22's are pretty cheap nowdays anyway. I use them unmodded but on a send and blend it back in with the dry signal... |

Thread Starter | cool thanks thats why I got two I got one thats still completely original and untouched. I made sure to get two just in case, do you know where I can get a power cable for these things? its like an oval with three round prongs, I heard they were the same chords as old vacuums and hp products but I dont know where to find them....... |

Thread Starter | Cool cant wait to experiment on both cards I always love it when I find some old piece of gear that has a USABLE effect, these types of things will stay in my rack forever and im hoping this is one of them. Unfortunately ill probably find it easier to find a plug then convert but this is definitely not a standard chord the guy I bought it from had one but he needed to keep it. |

| It will probably cost you less to convert it than to buy a 'rare vintage power cord" on ebay. Bahahahah. (sad but true) |

Thread Starter | Cool maybe the mod one works better in parallel, and the stock one is better as an insert? Cant wait to try both. looks like im gonna have to figure out how to convert the unit to standard power cable dammit!! |
