If you can spread them far enough in a big enough room, they seem to sound best horizontal. They are great either way. Vertically, the S3As yield a better image in a tighter room. Ideally, bigger room and horizontal.

Craig at "Calistro's Music" recommended them to me and it was the best $5350 I've ever spent!!! Thanks Craig!!!

I use mine horizontally (best bass IMO), 20 inches from back wall, ear height, stacked on top of Ampex 456 2" tape boxes (full) sitting on a table top. Be sure to check for and eliminate any console or other direct reflections. Makes a huge diff. Flat eq, some gain reduction. your room may vary.

I don't know which woofer I have on the inside. I keep forgetting, howcan you tell which is which? I have speaker A on the left, speaker B on the right, which means that the woofers with the heat sinks behind them are on the inside. no idea if that's the "right" thing to do.

Ive found that vertical with sub up and ports on the outside work best in my room. Bass and low mids are solid and imaging is superb...

Dammit, I wish people would quit raving about these.. I can't afford em yet!

SB described em as "perfect ns10's" I think I can relate as I still end up on my ns10s most of the time... bought the dynbm6a's but they just arent getting it for me.
I want the adams.

The new incarnation of S3-A's is moving to switching amplifiers instead of the current "Class A/B" amps... I'm interested in hearing the difference between those and the new ones [apparently the new ones have yet to hit the American shores...]

Unfortunately not. I did a A/B test with the S3A's and the P33A's and the P33A's are scooped as fukk.

I so wanted them to be good. But once you've heard the S3A's, forget it. The P33A's don't cut it.

Incorrect. The pair of S3As I got from Calistro's Music are the “newer” version. I have confirmed it with Adam. Apparently, Calistro's Music made a sizeable order and received the first of the new S3As in the United States. I would love to do a shootout with the new rev vs. the original. . . . .

That would really stink if the new rev is not as good (sonically) or built with cheaper parts. Adam has been fortunate enough to get "the hype", and unless it is a minor improvement, I think they are making a mistake by changing anything. There are too many people out there that just love to say, "The original was better" just for the sake of it. In any case, these sound amazing. I would LOVE to hear the difference.

Fletcher, do you know exactly what has change (parts-wise)? Do you know when you will receive the new rev? I would love to hear your thoughts on the differences.
