Upgrade options from a converter

Hey guys,
I currently own a Motu 24 I/O, PC, and sonar 8.

Im looking to upgrade but im not sure if Upgrading my Motu 24 i/o would really be worth it.

what would the advantages be?

What are the differences between something like the lynx 16 or Lavry AD10 as compared to the Motu 24 i/o? would the differences really be that different?

or would the cash be better spent on some nicer Pre-amps/mics/ etc?

Going from a MOTU to a Lynx Aurora is a pretty massive difference. Couple that with nice cabling, good room treatment, proper monitor control and good monitors, and you've got yourself a pretty sweet setup. After that's all done, then start looking at preamps, eqs, compressors, etc.

If the core of your studio is lacking why does it make sense to spend lots of money on high end outboard gear? It's like having a Porsche 911 Turbo with a Yugo engine and transmission. The outside looks great but it doesn't run anywhere near how it should.
