Sontec MEP250-EX for vocals+mastering?

Hi,
I found a Sontec MEP250-EX for 2000€, and need a good eq for vocal, and maybe for mastering (I begin to learn mastering). It has been serviced by Inward connection last year.

What do you think of it? Good idea?

(note: i haven't the money for a gml...)

Thank you for your help!

my Sontec MEP250 EX lives across my mix bus (i dont master) and it sounds really great to my ears. For a mastering EQ it doesnt have stepped gain, so recalls might be a little difficult, but for mixing mine recalls fine.

For a vocal EQ it would be outstanding. I'd say the EQ's biggest strength is a really wide open top end. It does nice stuff to all frequencies, but opening up the mids and highs is often what i use it for most.

I agree...

...as one great engineer said to me, "On vocals, with that eq, it's like starting over!" I can attest, IT IS. That is if you want/need to...

wow!

In fact I don't know what to do cause I have the choice between a used GML8200 and the sontec.
The GML is about 1K$ more...

What do you think??

I heard a gml once and was very very impressed by is natural sound, but never heard the sontec...

I prefer the Sontec, and if it was serviced by Inward it will be performing at its best.

I Bought it!
After reading lots of things about it, I decided it'll be a better choice than the GML for me.
Thank you for your help!
