Need opinions please - Mic cable for specific use

I have plenty of Mogami 2549 cables for my studio. I use them for everything.

I want one great mic cable (actually, two are needed) for my vocal setup, which is a Lawson L251 Tube mic, into a Groove Tubes Vipre Pre, then into a Groove Tubes Glory Comp. Then it goes into my Agogee AD-16x.

Options:

Belden 9182

Vovox

Mogami W2534 Quad Mic Cable

Canare L2T2S Mic Cable

Canare L-4E6S Quad Mic Cable

Thanks,
Shane

I recommend you try a couple of Vovox cables.

Thanks. Anyone else?

What about that Mogami TUBE cable, specifically designed for tube microphones?

That's what I have on most of my tube mics. Good stuff.

Did you ever compare it to the standard Mogami cable? Could you notice a difference using the "Tube" version?

Well, it's hard to compare standard Mogami cable (which I have lots of) with tube Mogami cable cause the mics are so different. It all works just fine for me so I go ahead and deal with other more pressing matters.

What you have is fine... Its a waste of effort to even think about this crap... If it was crap cable to begin with fine, but anyone hearing the difference CONSISTENTLY in a REAL BLIND TEST cant hear a BIT of difference... (between what you have listed).

Ill put any amount of money or gear on it as long as I set up the test. Of course since nobody would really bet over this, the trick is to make all the samples the EXACT SAME then let the listener blather on about the differences they hear... That test works with sample rates as well.

If people could REALLY hear this crap as much as they claim, then my test would be caught everytime, but its not. In fact its worked 100% of the time (I started doing it with 88 vs 192 sample rates)... Psychoacoustics are an AMAZING things and a Gearslutz requirement!

Red Handed.. 100%!thumbsup

But again, I LOVE that test... If you claimed to be able to taste the difference between poop and peanut butter, I bet you could tell me "no poop" if I only served you peanut butter... ee Should work the same with cable and sample rates...

Its the litmus test for bullsh*t.

Haha - so the litmus test for b/s is... b/s?! I *think* I get it now.

Not a valid test though, for people whose poop tastes a lot like peanut butter. Just sayin'

Thanks everyone.

I called Redco and spoke with them as well, and decided to stick with my Mogami W2549 cables, and even ordered some more while on the phone!
