wordclock 2010

hello there,
last year or so i have been out of touch a bit from the gear developments due to a move to a different country et al.
i have new studio built now and am considering upgrading the clocking.
currently i take WC from HEDD at 44.1 and distribute the clock signal via Drawmer d-clock.
the question i have is, is there any clock generator that would make a noticeable difference if i used instead of HEDD as a master? Gig Ben was some years ago popular, what's the current "it" model?

thanks for any advise etc.

There is no need to upgrade what you have IMO.

I kind of agree with the Hedd not really needing a clock upgrade. I think there are a lot of people who would argue that it only makes sense to upgrade your word clock if it's really low quality. The argument is that you always introduce more jitter using an external clock than using the internal clock. So if one clock is only slightly better than the other you're really not improving the clocking much. If you need to sync your digital devices you're doing fine using the Hedd as the master even with just BNC T-connectors. Maybe put the money towards some outboard, but if you want a word clock box I believe the newest "it" stuff has already been mentioned with antelope audio. People still like the big ben too.
