Is Shadow Hills Industries making an EQ?

Does anyone have any inside info? Maybe a debut at AES?

I think it be great to hear an EQ from S.H.

All of their other gear has a certain "aliveness" to it, that employing an EQ in the mix would be super.

Nickel's great! My SHMC is set on Nickel by default and ends up staying there for most of the songs....

My Studio

Hi all. First post. LONG time lurker. I own a Shadow Hills Quad Gama and Dual Optograph. Needless to say, love 'em both, and use them heavily on every session. I have spoken to Peter Reardon several times, and he told me that he in fact, DOES, have a Shadow Hills EQ in the works. However, if you follow SH at all, you already know that nothing happens quickly down at their Austin facility. Peter is an amazing guy, but it takes him a while to get his products out. He actually had a prototype 500 series EQ several years ago. There are pics of it here on GS. But from what I understood, he's making a stand alone EQ. Just be patient. Peters boxes are ALWAYS worth waiting for.

I've had my GAMA 8 since June 2006 and I recall Peter mentioning his plans for building an eq back then. I'm sure it will come one day; hopefully it'll be released as a 500 series version and as a larger stand alone version simultaneously, like with the Optograph.

Peter showed me a dope looking proto 500 series eq a couple years back.
I'd imagine he'd have something in the works soon enough

It weighs over 300lbs. Not for portable rigs, but definitely has that old-school transformer sound.

I just wish they'd make a 500 series of that. It's for surround installations right?

they were showing an EQ like 2 years ago at AES I believe. It was the Shadow Hills Nova. Was a 500 series 2U module, had big red knobs. I wonder what happened to it.

edit: found a pic, not a good one but its the guy with the red lights next to the mono gamas

Here's a better pic of the prototype from the aes show.. I think it's 3 years ago already.

The thing looks hideous!!!

Somethings are just not meant to go in 500 series racks. Those modules deserve their own racks.

Well Peter just bought my Electrodyne 251A EQ's from me a couple months back, so that might be an indicator of something to come. Some of the best friggin EQ's in the whole wide world are those Langevin / Electrodyne 251 and 253 EQ's... and that's not just my opinion.

Oh yeah? Then why'd you sell them?

Ha-ha... good one.

Well I still have a pair of 253A's and do mastering for a living, so these babies don't get used enough. It's the same reason I just sold my Electrodyne ACC1204 console. Sad day to see that puppy go but John over at Soma Studios will treat her well... so glad she went to a good home and will be used a lot more.

I'm still holding onto my Langevin 12x3 tube console, which has the pair of 253A's in that. Langevin Tube Console

That may be sold some day as well. I'm in the process of learning distillation of alcohol to open up my own distillery soon. When the land I have up for sale sells, it's all a done deal!

No one can download alcohol for free... well, at least not yet (ha-ha).

That prototype doesn't look half bad to me!

I wonder if they'll put it out soon. It's been years!
