In general, don't push them to soffit volumes. They perform best in the 85 db range and will serve you well there. If you want something to blast in a loud and gratifying way then find something else. I have JBL LSR 28's for that purpose.

True, but sometimes you want to blast it just for fun. IMO, the Adams won't go there. The JBL's will.
