I love mine--bought it in '97. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it.
+1

Excellent weighted action, beautiful MIDI implementation, very usable sound and attractive looking as well.

I'm still using my Kawai MP9000 to control Ivory and it's a joy.
I've tried using a fatar once, but the hammer action on the kawai just helps you play better and imho it makes for a more convincing Midi performance.

Since the MP9000 is no longer available, unless you can find one used, try the Kawai MP8II. Tried one in the local store and it has almost the same feel.

Just go out there and try some different boards in the shop, you'll find one that suits you.

Forgot to mention the wooden keys and real hammers on the Kawai, that's probably what makes it so good.

If you are unable to obtain a grand piano/Hammond organ/Leslie, I recomend Yamaha S90 ES
