Vintagedesign DMP

I recently bought a Vintagedesign DMP (dual mic pre) and I must say it sounds fantastic. Itīs a similar device as the 1073. I havenīt had the chance to make an A/B test with the real 1073 though I have worked with those too. My Manley Cardioid mic really came alive with this unit. I have got a CIB (Amek) which is really clean and I like it very much...but I must say I donīt use the preamp section for vocals anymore...Now I use the DMP 95 % of the time.

A good buy since the character is completely different compared to the CIB

Are you guys familiar with this device & what are your opinions on it ?

Of course thereīs no use comparing it with the 1073 too much......since itīs not a 1073. I got mine for 1350 euros which i think is pretty cheap for 2 channels of this quality. The price/quality ratio is good anyway

I have a couple of CA73's. (same preamp + eq). I love it, sounds great, use it all the time on anything.

Saw the Vintagedesign units at the Mac Expo today. Anyone tried the M81 or the M73? The prices are very tempting...

Well...i guess i got mine at a well discounted price. Itīs a really good piece of equipment. I bought mine from a music store that sold their whole outboard stock away. That explains the price.
