Crowley & Tripp Ribbons

Hello Everyone,

Anybody used the new Crowley & Tripp Ribbons yet?
I am very curious about the Proscenium model.

Any thoughts as to how they compare to the AEA or Royer mics?

Thank you in advance,
Peace

I used a Proscenium on a session 2 days ago. Check out the other thread that's already going about ribbon mic choices here in the high end. There is another person who's tried a C&T ribbon on that thread too.

Other thread

Thank you for the link to the other thread.

How would you say they compare to the AEA microphones, specifically the R84?

Peace

I've never used an AEA R84, though I've heard they're very nice. Check out the R92, that's a really cool little mic. I say little because it's quite smaller than the other AEA ribbons. I like them a lot.

The R88 is Stereo, The R44 is a re-make of the famous RCA version, the R92 is their new mic that has more high end, and the r84 is the flagship microphone of AEA, IMHO.

The R84 is a great mic, having very nice, full lows and and smooth highs.

So again, I am curious how the C&T microphones compare to the R84....

Thank you
Peace
