MixDream Users .....A question regarding levels..

Hi .

How do u set the relationship between the master send level and the output knob ??? Also ...do u hit the thing conservatively (ie. incoming levels) or do u keep things as you would be mixing in the box..

The reason i ask is that today i recived mine and hooked it up for a small playround... My first impressions was that its very easy to distort the unit...It would be interesting to see how other users are approaching the above issues...

TIA.... thumbsup

argh .... marriage between the digital and analog world ... HEADROOM ..... that's probably a key word your looking at. higher headroom settings make it 'easier' to communicate with the digital world. Although I'm pretty sure the Mixdream should have lots of free space by itself, I'm also sure that if you have your convertors set at say -18db headroom, and you wanna send nice hot, close to 0 db levels to your mixdream, it's not all that difficult to distort its inputs.

But then again I might be completely off .....

Hi Chris..

Thx for the reply. My convertors are calibrated to -18db so i dont think this could be it. I found that when hitting this box hard it tends to distort...But what im really interested in is how users setup the relationship between the "Master Insert" and the "Output" Knobs..

Low input and High output.... keep your PT levels lower than you might usually
keep the limiter on lowest possible setting or off
