Plug vs hardware ffx (if you had to do a recall without the hardware what would u use

Dont know if I should post this under hi end or computers but
While cleaning out my attic I came across some session tape (remember that) from an SSL session. As a thought I wondered what I would use in place of the ffx of the session if i wanted to try for similiar results at home. OF course the results would not be identical but I'm curious to know what other guys would replace ffx units with. I know it's only possible to approximate the sounds, I'm just curious what you guys would reach for first. ( I cant find the sheets so I dont know what was set to what)
