Wagener's Germany trip

I am going to be in Germany, from May 8th to May 24th.

I'll be all over the place, Hamburg (8-12), Duesseldorf (13th), Wuppertal/Solingen (14th), Gelsenkirchen (for the RockHard festival with Accept on the 15th), close to Mannheim (16th - 21st), then back to Hamburg (22nd to 24th).

Would be great to meet some German Gearslutz, if time allows.

Solingen!
Time to meet with some folks from your past!
I just called Hans Peter Heitzer (pre Accept band member) and he would love to meet you!
I would love to too.
Accept going to have a gig in the club "Getaway" or in the "Cobra"?

Have fun and thanks for your time. BTW - I hear 220 Volt is back together. They also were a great . but seriuosly unknown band in the US. They might not even be that popular in Europe. They are a Swedish band from the 80's.

Besides his talent, Michael should be commended for his generosity. On his vacation to his homeland he offers to meet us mere mortals. He welcomed my brother and me into his studio and invited us to dinner with one of the workshop groups when we were in Nashville.

Michael you are a class guy all the way!

I'll be in Solingen probably Saturday the 14th only in the morning (not with Accept though, they only play the one gig on the 15th in Gelsenkirchen during that time).

I'm not sure if i take my lapto on that particular trip, but I will probably have a "Handy", don't know the number yet.

If I have internet access, you can PM or email me. I might be able to post my handy number once I get it.

looked it up .... Dusseldorf is about 150km away from where I live ... At least if it's the one close to Solingen and Monchengladbach. 150km is quite doable in 90 minutes or so .... We'll see by then if schedules fit and I wouldn't mind driving up there to say hi .......

Have a great trip Mike. Forgot to ask about what module or amp Wolf will be using for a cleanish sound in support of the Randal XTC module. Let Wolf know that if he gets into playing again to not forget his fans in the US. I know that this is a very limited tour - so a live DVD would probably be a next best thing for the rest of the world.

Golly... if you had Michael driving it would be knocked down to like 30-35 minutes...

I think he just turns down the guitar for the clean parts, sounds great.

As far as I know, the promoters are making DVDs of the Festivals, so I'm sure there will be something available.

I just wanna do another record with Accept...

You bet. Not sure about the speed limit in Belgium, though. I think it's 130km/hour (roughly 80 miles/hour), but there are still stretches of the Autobahn where you can go as fast as the car will go ... looking forward stike

I know, would love to, but it's back to work by then. I originally made a mistake and thought the AES was in Berlin (had the wrong year) and started booking my flights around that event, even had a short lived post here about some get-togethers. After Chris pointed out that I was a year behind we deleted this embarrasing post...

So we will have to wait for NYC in the fall

That's some mistake!! Plus, you missed a great show - Berlin was a blast last year.

We'll save a spot for you in the booth in New York this October!

Well, We Belgians tend to drive 'German' style ... as long as it's straight and there's no red lights coming up.

Hey! I did a track with them in the 80's!
Paul Inder (Lemmy of Motorheads's son) and I did one song called "Young & Wild" at a HUGE film studio called Sonet (I think) we used an orchestral room to track in. We had just recorded Trance Dance's first album and the record co (CBS I think) wanted us to try a song with 220 Volts - (great T shirt! I always thought it funny to wear it in the UK where it's 240v )

I am not sure the band liked the track in the end and might have re-recorded it but we had fun!

Thanks, I should have know he does not need a clean channel.

Now what would it takes for him and Michael Schenker to get together and start a twin lead guitar band?

Answer = time machine. I'm probably one of the few that would be interested now.

Man, I second that!
I had a time going back and forth between Duesseldorf and Brussels - man, even with 150 km/h you are still a hindrance to a couple of "insane" Belgians!
Though I experinced as well how much is costs to get photographed going 150 km/h. Maybe 90 minutes is a good shot

Well guys, got myself some €uros and I'm off to Germany on Saturday. I might not always have internet access over there, so I probably won't post a lot. Back by the end of May...

Cool, MW. If you make it to Frankfurt you can look up my brother Bob Cruz. Not a musician, but a charismatic party guy who's been living in Germany since the 70's. Have a great time.

What are you doing in Wuppertal? My wife grew up there, but it's not exactly famous for it's studio scene. I'll probably be there sometime this summer too.

No kidding. Which part of town? My wife's from Langerfeld; I've had fantasies of converting the old bomb shelter there into a studio.......it'd probably be pretty creepy, though.
