Advice on outboard gear

I'm looking for a multi-input channel to patch all my keyboards an modules into before hitting my converter's/soundcard. What are some of the things you guys are using to patch your instruments into your DAW? Say for instance I have an apogee 200. What whould be the best plan of attack for patching gear into it. $1,200 dollar budget. I need at least 9 to 10 ins. No mixers please.

Thanks

I just use a Neutrik 1/4" patchbay, but my 192 i/o does allow -10 line level inputs. Do you need to convert from -10 to +4? Or add gain?
