I have been yelled at in the past for doing this but what do you think about the approach? One mix guy hated me for doing it that way and then Justin Neibank (sp?) mixed something I did the same way and said "DON"T STOP I LOVE IT". I'll let you be the tie breaker.

Has it made it easier to mix the drums or harder?

Thanks,

the drums on "tape" sound really good, great job. Tom is looking for a very specific drumsound, so we are doing some heavy bending, nothing to do with the quality of the recorded tracks. The one thing that could have been better (not your fault) are the room tracks, so I am reamping some room, no big deal.

Ya... I know. There were two different rooms that we recorded the drums in. One was too hellacious and I used to record it with a spaced pair but since Tom's stuff I have started using some Coles as an XY which helps a lot. The other room... just doesn't have a sound.

Can't wait to hear everything when you are done. Tell Tom I said hi.
