Howdy, Got a Sony C-800G and I wanted to get some advice. I wanted to protect it from dust and moisture, but I use it every night, so I don't want to take it off the stand and put it in the case after every time I use it. It's in a vocal booth right now and I wrap it with some Saran wrap after it cools down. As I understand it, the standard proceedure is to put some kind of dust cover over it and put something in the dust cover to soak up the humidity. Any suggestions? Ian |

Thanks Klaus. I'm gonna pick up some of the silica packets and then I think I'm all set. Ian |

what you dont want to do is what you sould do imho. i have seen people trip over things and almost bring down a u47 a time or 2. i never leave mics up. id rather wear out or break a shock mount from constant removal than have the mic hit the floor from several feet off the ground. ps-some people use crown royal bags to cover their mics when not in use. -jay | |

Thanks for the Rep. I think I'm okay in that department 'cause the mic is in a Whisper Room and suspended from the ceiling of the room. It's funny, I've gotten about 6 different people mentioning the Crown Royal bag. Ian |
