Has anyone tried the Soundelux E250? How does it sound on vocals, compared to the E251 or Lawson L251, or even ELAM 251?

I cannot find any user feedback or magazine review on this mic, so any comment would be appreciated!

Thanks.

We were late getting the E250 out to market, despite an intro at AES Munich. The mic really started shipping late in 2004. Reviews are scheduled for Mix, Tape Op, PAR, EQ. In fact I think the Tape Op one should be out in Jan.....

Sorry for the delay.

Thanx Brad. Have you tried it? How does it compare to the E251?

I have loaned it to some of our "golden ears" type customers. So far the results have been just what we had hoped for. Does it sound just exactly like an ELUX? No, the proximity effect peak has been moved up a bit, to say around a 150Hz peak instead of 75hz peak like an ELUX, plus there is less top end compared to the ELUX. The move in proximity effect was intended to give more "fullness" and "body" to a wider variety of voices. The reduced top end is to reduce chances of sibilance on spitty singers. But it seems that our goal, to get the that core ELUX/251 tone into folks hands for under 3K, will actually work out.
