Thread Starter | Valley People 440 questions...
Hi folks, I got hold of a valley people 440 compressor for a low price (?) roughly 350$. I fired it up and ran some vocal from a recent project (ABBA Mamma Mia musical stuff) through it. Sounds quite amazing... But as the company no longer exists and I haven't got any documentation can anybody share some info about it? Like specs, block diagram, manual etc. And - before I open it - is this a vca based design? Thanks for your help & happy new year Stefan

Manual is avaiable on the Valley page. The company does still exist as a subsidiary of Galaxy, the tiny monitor people. It's definitely a vca based unit, with severl summed control paths to teh vca, allowing limiting, gate and compression functions. |

You're quite welcome. The 440 is one of my personal favorite pieces. I got mine busted for around $90, and replaced a couple of pots, and have really used it constantly since then. The only thing that sucks is the way the boxes were built back in the day.

PMI Audio own the rights to the Valley People line, they should have all the schematics. http://www.pmiaudio.com
