Help me find the best desk for my studio

I see there are a few companies that make really nice custom desks for recording studios. I have noticed some consistances on the designs. Some concerns, mainly about the 1st reflections from my Adams bouncing off the front of the console and desk.

The real nice console desks I am aware of are

any other cool companies?

OmniRax does top notch work. Can't say on the rest.

You may consider talking to a local custom shop. Shipment to Hawaii can't be cheap.

I've got an Argosy desk for my Control 24 and I've been really happy with it and the customer service is first rate.

Man......you ever thought about getting a good craftman near you to build a desk just like one of the above for a 1/3 of the price? Just show them a few pictures.

Jeez, I must be an old fart. Where I come from a "desk" means a console.

Sound Construction desks are very nice... Shipping would be pricey!

Quality of Argosy and Omnirax...my opinion

Argosy is VERY nice stuff, very solid and pro construction. And yes, there service is pretty amazing. And they send out nice Christmas coffee mugs with Chocolate in them

The Omnirax stuff is very functional but not on the same quality build level that Argosy is. Nothing at all wrong with it, it's just more "Rooms to Go" versus the "Ethan Allen" quality of Argosy.

I can say this because I've owned both the Omnirax Synergy series as well as the Argosy 90 series.

Omnirax does custom work too. Depends on what you're willing to pay for. They built an acoustic test chamber prototype for me once (of course my manager had it reproduced in Thailand where the factory was). They did great work, but weren't too comfortable with the go-go pace of SillyCon valley industry.

i'm a youngin' and i thought we were talking about a console judging by the subject line. to me, those are just really elaborate computer tables.

i'd go for a local custom build though. it will likely be much cheaper, unless you go crazy with rare woods, and you'll have no shipping costs.
