Well I got myself an LTD-1, should be coming this week. Anyone want to share tips on what's good settings on vocals, electric/acoustic bass/guitar, snare, kick etc? |

Depending on the kik drum tuning... it will sometimes work to crank the snot out of 60Hz on the EQ and set the filter to 80Hz [or 56... depends on the drum]. No thoughts on the other stuff... best of luck with it.

it will all depend on the sound you are recording and each situation will be different. | |

well, I got the chandler on saturday, I must say, it's really stunning. I'm no pro, just a guy that makes music in my tiny apt room, so my ears aren't trained, but on my headphones, my mics came to life. I was scared to plug my mic to the emu 1820 preamp, thinking "what if there's no difference and I just blew away money" but I got my courage and plugged the mic to the emu 1820 and BOOM my vocals was so boring there and dead. It's like the chandler breathed life to my vocals and did some magic on it haha. Thanks for the tips guys, I'll mos def check it out. Gonna try it out with my taka guitar and bass too and see what it's like. |

We use the LTD-1 everyday in our studio and it really sounds great on just about everything. The 16k tip is a good one. Michael Wagener told me that a slight boost in the 3k and 6k area will give some sparkle to the 1073 sound and it does. There's a mid freq around 3.8k and a high around 6.8k that I will boost slightly on vocals with my E49 and it really sounds amazing!
