Highly recommend Daniel Leffler - the Australian rep for Sterling Sound, NYC. Great guy, and great results from Sterling.

since this thread was started in 04' i would assume the mastering has already been done.

But still a good thread for future references.

Sorry guys - I'e had an album mastered by David which came back with a relatively dull-ish compressed sound. We ended up going with Steve Smart @ 301 which was more of what we were hoping for.
The difference was an extra $1,000 but worth it to our ears. YMMV.
Cheers, Ross

That was probably your fault if you didn't get specific with him about what you were after. He's excellent. If you just left it to him without explaining the dynamics of your band, then he could only guess based on what most bands of ur genre or similar sound prefer. Masterers aren't mind readers, neither are live sound engineers.tutt

In all seriousness guys.... everything has changed now with Leon Zervos back in town.
He has done 2 masters for me recently and the results are outstanding.
Check the back of your favourite 'International' artists CD's - there's a chance Leon has done the mastering.
Ex Sterling Sound - what a pedigree. thumbsup
