Steinberg's ID Controller, where is it?

Did Steinberg show off their ID Controller at the AES?

For some reason they have not even shown the controller on their US web site. You have to go to the Canada web site to see it? Does it really work like they say it does? I find this very odd. IF you go to Digi's web site there is a lot of info on their new controller, even a nice booklet. Nothing from Steinberg on their unit. Also no response from them at the Nuendo site either when I asked about it.

I think I saw it in a corner at the show. It looked black, not pink like the other model I saw a while back...

I may have this wrong....

Thank goodness, no more pink, it looks a lot nicer. Wonder how it competes as controller compared to the Pro Controller.

Yeah... I took those pictures. It looks even better in person. I got to mess around with it quite a bit. It is incredibly smooth. The way things are layed out is just incredible. This is the most intuitive controller out there. I couldn't believe how much faster I could do things with it (and I am pretty fond of my Mackie Control as it is).

The advantage I think it has over ALL the Pro Tools controllers is that it's SO well laid out and logical. You don't have to think about anything... or look for anything. It's all RIGHT there. Build quality is incredible too. The Jog wheel is so incredible.

I love this thing. If I had the cash... I would totally get one. I just have to keep building up my front end first....

Rock On....

There was an ID controller at the Steinberg booth, as well as the PAD booth.. I was using it during the show!

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

The reason Steinberg doesn't have it on their site, is because they are not distributing it in the US. They also are not the manufacturer. It is actually made by WK Audio. The distributor in the U.S. is AXI. You can call them at 909-948-0997

Or you can buy an ID from yours truly...

Thanks, but I think that is very poor marketing strategy on Steinberg part. That want to compete with PT with Nuendo. They have a controller that is more for professional studios, and they don't put it on their web site. The more the word of the ID Controller's gets out, the more Nuendo sales should go up.
