Thread Starter | Sub for S3a's
Ok. I bit the bullet for the S3a's and let's just say they won't be leaving the studio for a while. What would you guys consider a good match-up for these in a subwoofer, just to be sure you are hearing everything that is on the tape? ...J |

If you wanna use the sub's bass management system, the Sub-10 has separate rolloff controls for the sub and satellites. However, there are folks using a sub with S3-As who want the quality of the Kevlar-coated Hexacones as far down as they'll go. In that instance, try running the S3-As full-range, then sending a separate aux send to the sub, rolling it off as low as it will go. If you try this and you use a DAW, you can choose to automate the level to the sub on a per song basis, and/or use an EQ/filter plug-in across the aux to automate where you roll the low pass off. dB ADAM Audio USA | |

I got a Sub-10 from Bryce and has been exactly what I needed. Most people will tell you you dont need one but thats because most of them get excited and overuse it resulting in bad mix translations... If you set it up properly you shouldn't be able to hear when the sub begins and the S3a's stop...the image should be like its coming out of two speakers... ...good luck |
