TommyD | I heard them being played at the booth, and they sounded very "realistic", FWIW. Beyond that, it's hard to dial in some serious opinions because of ambiant noise on the floor of the show... but I hear that they're good for mastering. The Lipinsky fellow was very nice and approachable.

I was talking with Mr. Lipinsky when Chuck Ainlay walked by. Chuck has some in a studio he is working at now and was raving about them. Lapinsky was showing off some very nice looking mic pres.

Bowisc & Dave,
Thanks for your replies. Any idea of the "price of admission" on these puppies?

-g | Hhhmm. That's interesting. I got an email from Lukas Lipinski this morning stating that they "have no dealers and prefer to sell direct for now."

GC Pro president Tom Menrath told me he scored them at the last AES, and I've seen them in every GC Pro trade show demo suite since, most recently back in September at the Surround Expo in Hollywood.
Perhpaps they have parted ways.

IMHO from a brief listen on the show floor.... The Lipinski monitors have a freakishly precise immage positioning and startling HF reproduction.
Their mic pres won an award at the show..

Yeah that thing is almost freakishly well laid out it seems.
I wonder if it sounds as good as the circuitry looks.

Here is another picture of the same performer (Vikki) demoing a couple of goodies from Great River, Josephson and Cranesong at a local studio there in San Fran. It was an event sponsored by the aformentioned manufactures. This woman was incredible. She never played in the same tuning twice. Her performances evoked memories of the late Michael Hedges!!!!
*If you look closely you can see a few conspicuous looking Gearslutz reflected in the glass.

Here is a photo taken just outside of the Monscone Convention Center after the show on Saturday. He was playing something reminiscent of a hammered dulcimer only with feathers attached to his fingers. The timbre produced from performing with feathers was similar to that of a bowed instrument. Stunning!!!!!!!
