Thread Starter | high end 16 channel 8 bus mixer?
Man.. I swear, someone needs to make an amazing desk for home hiphop people tracking into PT. 8 channels with real meat EQs (for the MPC standard affair)... Am I really going to have to buy another full sized console just to have real EQs while monitoring? Chandler should build a step up model for thier new box and make the big brother with EQs. I would buy one in a second.

bobji: no eq, and for 8 channels of "boutique" stuff, I might as well get another board. The Trident I kinda forgot about... might be an option, or I guess it night also come down to finishing the API7600/8200 thing that I have had in my head for some time now. Cash Sucks. |

Have you checked out the Daking consoles? They make a 16 channel 8 bus with A range style mic pres and eqs. Just a thought. Mike |

Just go with the 32x8 Manley. I got the chance in Chicago to use their 16x2 line, and my lordy...my lordy...those poor little synths may never be the same... Aaron audiocowboy.com |

API 1608, circa 2008? With a DAW feeding it (serious routing complexity ITB), a 16-input/4-bus model might be acceptable, which puts a vintage API 1604 in the running. The old ones have that nostalgic "cold-war" electronics smell. Disclaimer: I have never owned an API 1608, but would like to lift the lid on one. Cheers.

The API 1608 is exactly what you are asking for.

Write Geoff and see if you are interested. I just helped a colleague get and Electrodyne 15x4 that was pretty cool for 12.5K.

API 1608 loaded with 550 eq is also what i got in mind when i read your question I've never worked on one, but i worked on a Legacy+ wich is absolute top level, and if it's build arround the same components, it's what you're looking after. and yes, you can expand it later with the 16ch expansion, and load it with any 500 form module instead of the suggested api modules. But it's not cheap (50K for the 16ch would be a good bet) more info: API 1608 Recording Console
