Schoeps CMC6 vs. CMC6XT - any audible sound difference ?

I have CMC6 preamps with MK4V, MK21 and MK2 capsules. I wonder – would there any (beneficial) audible sound difference between CMC6 and CMC6XT ? Anyone tried to compare directly ?

http://www.schoeps.de/E-2004/cmc.html

in the middle of that page there's a frequency response curve that compares the cmc6 with the cmc6xt ....

Response beyond 40K eh ......

dunno ... depends in what application and under what cirumstances I think.I can imagine recording a Steinway Grand at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam or the Wiener Musikverein might benefit from it. One might definately consider to use the XT version to record at 96k for example. I mean ... all the info needs to find a place to get stored at too no ?

Would be interesting to hear from actual real life comparison

I've heard from many people that there is a VERY slight difference. Not enough to even mention at 44.1.

Best Regards,

Don

I use the CMC6/MK4 and have never used or even heard the CMC6XT. I do note from the published graphs at the Schoeps site that there's more high end in the 10k to 20k range with the XT body when compared to the non-XT body. Should be able to hear some of that.
